GPO-3 NEMA grade sheet is a highly flame-resistant material composed of fiberglass reinforced thermoset polyester. GPO-3 sheet offers a superior combination of high strength, flame resistance, and low smoke generation. Recognized by UL®, this material sets the industry standard for electrical insulation applications due to its exceptional flame-retardant properties and arc/track resistance.
GPO-3 is commonly used in fabricating interphase and end barriers, as well as switchgears. Additionally, GPO-3 is favored in transit and marine applications where safe and cost-effective materials are essential. Notably, thyssenkrupp Engineered Plastics supplies a specialized "transit grade" GPO material initially designed for the New York City transit system. This material has since been adopted in numerous other cities for applications such as third rail covers.
